About John Taylor

John Taylor is a British historic rally driver with a long standing passion for classic Ford rally cars, particularly the iconic Escort.

 

Returning to the sport in 2004, he has competed widely on forest and stage rallies in the UK and internationally, including the Silver Fern Rally in New Zealand and the Roger Albert Clark Rally.

 

With championship success in the BTRDA Gold Star and strong results in the MSA English Rally Championship, John continues to campaign and celebrate the classic rally cars that helped define an era of the sport.

John’s rallying career has centred around some of the most iconic Ford rally cars of their era.

​

Over the years he has competed in a range of Escorts including the Ford Escort RS1600 Mk1, Escort Mexico Mk1 and Escort Mk2, along with the four wheel drive Escort RS Cosworth.

 

Carefully prepared and maintained, these cars represent an important part of British rally history and remain central to John’s continued involvement in the sport.

Rally Results

Competition History

John has competed on many well known British rallies across gravel forest stages and multi venue events.

​

His experience includes rounds of the BTRDA Gold Star Championship and the MSA English Rally Championship, alongside classic events such as the Trackrod Forest Stages, Cambrian Rally and Dukeries Rally.

 

Internationally he has also tackled the demanding Silver Fern Rally in New Zealand, one of the world’s most renowned historic rally events.
